About Terry
I am blessed to be a wife, mother, grandmother, educator and lover of anything creative. Until January 2014 when I retired, I had a home business as a Creative Memories Consultant in the scrapbooking industry for 23 years. Previous to that I enjoyed teaching elementary school in Montgomery County, Maryland and Fairfax County, Virginia, as well as nursery school in Maryland, with my teaching career spanning 16 years.
My biggest blessings, after the Lord, are my husband, our two daughters, two grandchildren, son-in-love, extended family, and our friends. My husband and I treasure the time we are able to spend with all these special people in our lives, and especially the role we are able to play for our grandchildren. They are the light of our lives.
For as long as I can remember I have enjoyed writing poetry, following in my mother’s footsteps. She wrote many poems during her lifetime. I have had time to do more writing recently and one of my greatest delights is writing poetry for my young grandchildren.
One of the things on my bucket list was to publish books and I have had the joy to be able to check that off my list a few years ago when I authored my first two books, one composed of inspirational faith poetry for adults and the other a fun children’s book about healthy foods and eating, which is also a poetry book. My first book, Breathe with Thee was published in June 2013 and is a compilation of many poems that I’ve written over the years. Eat Your Colors! is my first children’s book and was written a few years ago for my young grandchildren and was published in April 2014. Click on the Books tab above to see other books that I have written and published. All of these books can be ordered here on my website and through Amazon.

In the spring of 2016 my husband and I moved from our four-level split level home near the edge of Washington, DC in Maryland to a downsized one-level home in Damascus, Maryland near our grandchildren. It was one of the best decisions we ever made! We loved being in this small town (still not too far from DC) where the pace is slower, the traffic is less, and where "everybody knows everybody". It really is Mayberry! :-) And it was the best being near our precious grandchildren. In fact, the Lord moved us to the same street they lived on, just one house away!

But just when we thought we were settled for the future, the Lord spoke to us again and 3 years after moving us to Damascus, MD, He moved us to Lynden, Washington, just 3 miles from the Canadian border! Talk about a change! It was quite a move, but we are confident that God has things to do here, and the best part is that we now live 3 blocks from our grandchildren because they moved here a year ago! God certainly keeps surprising us with His amazing plans.

While in Damascus, MD we started a single moms ministry in our new church. Encouraging and blessing single moms has given me so much joy. And it seems that God has directed us to begin a similar ministry in Lynden, WA, as well. Both ministries are called The Bridge Single Moms Ministry. It is so wonderful to serve single moms in this way. It is a great struggle being a single mom, emotionally, financially, physically, and spiritually.
My favorite interests include my grandchildren, reading, writing poetry, social card groups, church activities, including The Bridge Ministry, volunteer work, prayer group, and travel with my husband, family and friends.

We have learned that God has surprises around every corner and that if we seek His will and are obedient to Him, He will supply every need to fulfill His will. As long as I have breath, I want to serve Him.
