The Warmth of the SON  Finding God in the Simple Moments of Life     Volume 1

The Warmth of the SON is a devotional book where Terry tells of God's faithfulness and love through her inspirational stories and daily life lessons.  It is compiled from the many devotions that she has written weekly for friends, family, and those who read her blog. There are times when you will rejoice with her and times when you will cry with her.  And there are also many times when you will laugh with her as she weaves a narrative of some of her light-hearted experiences.  In a clear way she teaches profound spiritual truths through the simplest life events, and you will surely feel as though you experienced them with her.

In addition to Terry’s personal heartwarming stories and prayers, she has included space to jot down notes or thoughts as you mediate on the many appropriate scripture verses that she has included in The Warmth of the SON.

"Another great thought from you, Terry.  Thanks so much for sharing your insights.  I read them all and am ALWAYS inspired in some way from them.  That's one of the beauties of what you are doing, is how your Thoughts are working for the Lord in ways you don't know."

GRACE UPON MY HEART:  Poems of an Awesome God

Grace Upon My Heart: Poems of an Awesome God is a collection of beautiful and encouraging poems that were written from Terry's life experiences, some from pain and trials and others from the joyful exuberance of watching God work in faithful and amazing ways.  Like her first book, Breathe with Thee: Poems from the Heart of God, these are stories of faithfulness, love, forgiveness, redemption, and hope.  They are also stories of God’s creation and how He uses that to bless us and meet us where we are.  Each one inspired by God, these poems will speak to everyone, whether they are feeling  pain from personal hurt or the joy of God’s amazing love.  Combined with meaningful scripture and beautiful photographs of God’s creation, this book will touch your heart and soul.

“Terry's poems are straight from her heart and the inspiration she sees from God at every step. She has added her own photographs for many of her poems which makes it more special.  The poetry is fresh, touching and genuine. It could inspire in me a new way of keeping a faith journal.”

  • S. Boyle

“Receiving your latest book of poetry is such a treasure trove of Terry’s heartfelt, intimate relationship with the Lord.  It is absolutely beautiful and will bring us continued consolation.”

  • L. Schultz, M.A.

“The Lord has blessed you with exceptional talent.  How wonderful that you are using that talent to give glory to Him!”

  • P. Fallabel

A collection of beautiful poems that were each born out of life experiences of the author, from the pain of hardships and despair to the joyful exuberance of watching God work in faithful and miraculous ways. They are stories of faithfulness, love, forgiveness, redemption, and hope. They are also stories of God’s creation and how He uses that to bless us and meet us where we are. Each one inspired by God, these poems will speak to everyone who is feeling the pain of personal hurt or the joy of God’s amazing love. Combined with meaningful scripture and beautiful photographs of God’s creation, this book will touch your heart and soul.

"Breathe with Thee is more than a book of poems. It's a tool to re-calibrate your view of who you are and Who He is. When life is all smooth sailing, I AM. When life falls apart, I AM. The author has clearly spent time at both extremes. I've read through her words on good days and bad days - either way, it fed my soul. I'm thankful there are people with the courage to write as the Psalmist did in Psalm 71:14 - 'But I will hope continually and will praise you yet more and more."'

Breathe with Thee: Poems from the Heart of God

“This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”

– Psalm 118:24

This beautiful scripture summarizes Terry Harris’ approach to life and her poetry. Her new collection of poems, Breathe With Thee, combines her love of scripture, her passion for photography and her skill with wordplay to create a touching read for all.

Harris’ poems address both the beauty in the world as well as the heartaches that make us question God and ourselves. Even in the face of negativity she creates poetry aimed to see the positives in life, bringing comfort through the word of God.

The Bridge That GOD Built

Book%20-%20The%20Bridge%20That%20God%20B

When Terry found herself in a position of consoling and counseling her daughter and grandchildren when they were going through a very difficult and painful divorce, God began to speak to her, and what He told her led her and her husband through many choices, changes, and challenges, and in the process, He began a ministry that would go on to bless and support many single moms. The story of this journey is both empowering and hopeful, to single moms and to the churches who support them.  When you read through the pages of The Bridge That God Built, you will understand clearly how very much God is in control of every detail of our lives, and when we are inside His perfect will, He will bless our efforts beyond measure.  Terry often said that she felt like she was running as fast as she could to keep up with God and His perfect plan, His provision, and His powerful answers to prayers.  If your church is even considering starting a ministry for single moms, you will want to read this book!

The Voice within My Soul  Poems from the Breath of God

The Voice within My Soul (2).jpeg

This book is a compilation of the poems in two previous volumes, Breathe with Thee and Grace Upon My Heart, PLUS several additional poems that God has since inspired.

The poems in this volume are written as a result of many and varied experiences in my life. Some verses erupted from deep pain and personal loss, and consequently, helped bring healing, while others sprang forth from the joyous explosion of God’s grace and mercies and blessings.  The former emotions can paralyze your feelings and take your breath away so that you find it hard to even catch your next breath.  And the latter emotions can give you your breath again.

As that calming voice within my soul spoke, connecting God’s heart to mine, He would bring words of verse to my mind to be released onto the page.  Every word is inspired by God and I feel humbly blessed that He allowed me to hold the pen.

Children's Books:

Do You Hear a Rhyme?

Resized_20211222_151635003 (002).jpeg

Children love rhyme.  And so does author Terry Harris.  The tempo, the rhythm of each poem in Do You Hear a Rhyme? all come together, along with the artwork of illustrator Bobbie Kogok, to delight and amuse children.  They will become absorbed in the color, the detail, and the charm and whimsey of Bobbie's unique style of illustrations that were specifically designed for each poem.  Some poems are silly and some are serious, some share God's love and some are prayers, and each one will capture the hearts of the young children who hear them.

I Love Jesus, Jesus Loves Me!

cover_edited.jpg

Do you often long for an opportunity to slow life down a bit and just sit with your young child for a moment to share the love of Jesus in an uncomplicated, but creative way?  Hopefully I Love Jesus, Jesus Loves Me! can be a tool to help you do just that! These fourteen simple devotions teach your child about God’s abundant, unconditional love, His provision, grace, and forgiveness, and how to pray. Each devotion provides a short scripture verse that can be recited by you and your child together, a very short lesson with interactive questions, parent-child activities, and a prayer to pray with your child. You can do one or all of the activities with your child, depending on your time available. I pray that you will enjoy this time with God and your little one, and I pray, too, that your child will grow close to our Lord and Savior in the process.

"My very young grandchildren just loved this devotional! It sparked their thinking and encouraged them to ask questions and comment about prayer and Jesus' love for all of us. Thank you for creating a simple format to share the love of Jesus with them."

"This book is going to all the little ones in my life for Christmas this year!"

A Friend, A Friend, That's What I Am!

Children will adore this new cheerful, whimsical book, the second one published by Terry Harris and Bobbie Gilbert Kogok together.  With its bright, engaging illustrations and delightful, rhyming text, this friendly book will be a favorite among young children, parents and teachers alike.

In addition to the fun illustrations that virtually bounce upon each page with bright color and whimsy, A Friend, A Friend, That’s What I Am! employs the same familiar rhyme that we saw in Terry’s first book Oh My, Dear Me, Gee Whiz!  You will want to truly “sing” each line in the rhythm and tempo that the words inspire as you read along with your child.

Open the book and you will find the answer to “When, oh when, is a friend a friend?”  You and your child will dance through the text and illustrations to experience all the joys of true friendship!

"Educators have long known the importance of encouraging language skills and creativity in young children.  This playful rhyming book, Oh My, Dear Me, Gee Whiz!, will do both.  Added to the whimsy of the rhymes are the great illustrations that virtually dance across the page.  Children, parents, and educators alike will LOVE this book."

Oh My, Dear Me, Gee Whiz!

"Well, my second copy of this delightful book Oh My, Dear Me, Gee Whiz! came in the mail today. I love it!
Children's books just delight me, and this will be a favorite, I'm sure.

Some of the things I really like about it:

  • There is a "rhythm" when you read this book, the words come out like a tune and I found my voice and face expressed cheerfulness from the first reading.

  • The little listener recognizes the tempo as they explore the beautiful detail of the illustrations. Little fingers point to bees, birds and dragonflies as they accompany the "stars" of the book - a cow with a crooked smile, a bat with a floppy wing, a dancing crab and a reading lion to name a few.

  • I DO mean beautiful illustrations - they are cheerful and bright; the reader and the listener want to linger to be sure they don't miss anything.

I highly recommend this book - be careful, it is bound to become a favorite that requires reading over and over. Oh, and I loved that the written story text was clear and well spaced on white pages that help young readers focus when sounding out words. (Sounds like a strange review item, if you have not read with literally dozens of new readers.)

Well Done, Terry Harris and Bobbie Kogok!  More....we need more books like this!"
