Terry Harris
Series of Four Devotional Books titled "The Warmth of the SON"
These are a big change from my usual poetry writings. Several years ago I compiled weekly devotions which I sent out by email and posted on my Facebook page and my blog. Many friends had asked me to publish them, and some had been specifically praying for God to move my heart to do so. Volume 1 is pictured to the left and there are 3 more, the last one being totally about Christmas. Click on the BOOKS tab above to go to all my books.

New Books!
I’m excited to share that my next book of inspirational poetry is finished and available. Check out the BOOKS tab above. This is a “volume 2” of “BREATHE WITH THEE: Poems from the Heart of God”. It includes my poetry, scripture verses with each poem, and some of my photos.
The title of this new book is “GRACE UPON MY HEART: Poems of an Awesome God”. The title “Grace Upon My Heart” comes from a line in one of the poems included in the book, just as “Breathe with Thee” did.
This will be a wonderful book for a friend’s birthday, someone in the hospital or nursing home, a hostess gift, or many other gift-giving opportunities.
This book, and all of my books, are available on Amazon.
In addition, ever since my illustrator Bobbie Kogok and I collaborated to publish “OH MY, DEAR ME, GEE WHIZ!”, some of you have been asking when we will produce the next book? I am happy to announce that it is in the works right now, and if you thought Bobbie’s illustrations for “Oh My” were fabulous, wait till you see her illustrations for this one! Every young child you know will want this book for their library!
Keep in mind upcoming holiday gifts, as well as birthday gifts and new baby gifts. All my children’s books make great baby shower gifts, as well.
The title of this book (my 3rd children’s book) is “A FRIEND, A FRIEND, THAT’S WHAT I AM!” It will have the same “sing-song” type tempo of rhyming verse that you saw in “OH MY, DEAR ME, GEE WHIZ!” This book will also be available from me directly, on this website, and on Amazon for $8.95 and is a good book for young children about friendship.
I am excited with what God is doing in my life and the writing and publishing path that He has me on right now. It is a fun ride!

Donation of Eat Your Colors! to local foodbank for children's backpacks
What a blessing today to be able to donate 75 copies of Eat Your Colors! books to Julies' Food Pantry for children's backpacks in the fall. My passion is healthy foods and eating for children and these books will be able to show young children many healthy food options in a fun and educational way.
I'm very grateful to Aubrey Alston, Executive Director of Julies' Food Pantry and also manager of Family Christian Bookstore in Gaithersburg, MD, who has been so supportive of my books. I will be doing a book signing there on October18 and will have Eat Your Colors! and Breathe with Thee available.

Local Christmas Bazaar
I enjoyed meeting many new friends at the Christmas Bazaar at Chevy Chase United Methodist Church in Chevy Chase, Maryland. I was grateful for the heart-warming response to my book
Breathe with Thee.
Speaking engagement at the CCUM Church Women
This was a wonderful opportunity to meet many women and tell them my testimony and how I came to write and publish Breathe with Thee, as well as read some of my poetry. A nice way to spend a Saturday morning with some amazing women.
Endorsement of Breathe with Thee
"Not only an inspired collection of poems, but Breathe with Thee speaks directly to me with every poem I read! Terry Harris, through her poetry, tells us that she is a devoted Christian who lives her life totally connected to God in every sense of the word...the poems in Breathe with Thee carry His message in a crystal clear way to the reader. With each one I read, I'm thinking of how I can use it to God's glory, not only in my personal life, but in the lives of others. The collection would make a great devotional guide or short-term small group study guide. Imagine discussing "The Seed Planter" or "A New Place" with a group of people. My mind is reeling with the possibilities!"

Eat Your Colors! has a healthy start
I'm very excited about some up-coming promotions of the book Eat Your Colors!. Many things are in the works, but two dates that are now in stone are Friday, August 8 and Saturday, October 18 when I will be doing book signings and selling my book at the Family Christian Bookstore in Gaithersburg, MD. I am also thrilled to be using this opportunity to partner with a local food pantry by donating a portion of my book sales to this worthwhile cause. Stay tuned for more information on this.
In addition, there is lots of excitement about Eat Your Colors! in the nutrition field and education field. I have been working with several venues for inclusion in catalogs, preparing school fundraisers, hospital education programs and various media outlets. I'm also finding that people are using Eat Your Colors! as baby gifts, as well as children's birthday gifts. And of course, the grandma market is healthy, too, and this grandma appreciates that very much!
I was recently blessed to be able to donate 25 books to one of my church's ministries... DayBreak in Washington, DC. I am so happy to be able to support them with copies of Eat Your Colors! to use in one of their summer programs with young children.
